As the title suggests, does surface oxidation of silicon powder affect the rate of cold hydrogenation reactions?
If the silicon powder with a catalyst is oxidized and becomes moist, it basically no longer reacts.
I don’t know how thick the passivation layer on the oxidized surface is; do you have such data?
Isn’t silicon powder too easy to oxidize?
