When two media are connected, a double-valve blind flange along with a drain line is required. So, where should the blind flange be installed – in front of the valve or behind it? In the case of a single valve, where should it be placed – in front of the valve or behind it?
First question: The blind plate is installed on the side of the valve near the drain. Second question: after the inlet device valve, after the outlet device valve, and after the valve where the utility medium meets the process medium.
Two valves and one drain, no need for blind plates. The blind flanges inside the unit are located behind the valves, while the lines leading into the system from outside are located in front of the valves.

For dual-valve installations, the valves can be placed at any position; a single valve should be installed on the side that is free from pressure and has a low risk of leakage. In cases where there is a risk of leakage and a blind flange must be used, it is best to install dual valves during shutdown for modifications.
The location of the blind plate should take into account the operations during switching. It is advisable to install it downstream of the valve in the direction of fluid flow, so that the blind plate can be switched after the valve is closed.
