The protective tubes for the field instruments’ cables in the installation are made of galvanized water gas pipes; since armored cables are used, the cables can remain exposed at turns or branching points, without the need for conduit boxes. Can the armored cable be partially exposed? Are there any specifications or construction acceptance standards that address this?
Armored cables are generally used for underground installation. It is not possible to install armored cables at the bends in the conduit; they must remain exposed.
In our factory, part of it is exposed; the ends of the protective tubes are connected with grounding wires, and the cable openings are sealed with explosion-proof putty.
Cables that are generally protected by conduits do not require armored cables. For the situation of the original poster, it is recommended to add flexible pipes. However, personally I think it’s fine to have it exposed; it’s a type of cable installation where the cables are disconnected from each other, and this installation method seems to be shown in the standard installation diagrams.
HG/T20512-2014 states that the laying of instrument cables should preferably be done in a continuous or disconnected manner. For armored cables, individuals recommend a disconnectable wiring method. As long as explosion-proof sealing joints are used at the instrument end and cable protection sleeves are used at the pipe penetration end, what does it matter if the cable is exposed? And it’s entirely possible to avoid using tubes; instead, use hot-dip galvanized troughs of 100*50 or 50*50 to reach the location of the instruments, and connect the wires directly there
There’s no problem with disconnecting the mounting wood; remember to install cable guards to prevent the cables from getting damaged. If there’s extra money, use a flexible tube – no problems will arise.
Armored structures are used in many places; they’re utilized wherever stress is present, I guess~~
