What are the efficient sealing types required for the floating roof in storage tanks according to VOCS?
Two types: tongue-shaped sealing strip and pouch-shaped sealing strip
Which of these two sealing types has better performance? I have seven 20,000-cubic-meter stainless steel floating tanks here!
In fact, each of the two has its advantages; they have different requirements regarding the smoothness of the inner wall of the tank, the verticality of the wall, and the choice of sealing materials.

Stainless steel mechanical seals are recommended; compared to capsule seals and lip seals, they offer better sealing performance, a longer service life, and are suitable for any type of medium. When changing the medium in a storage tank, there is no need to replace the seal tape.

Dual soft seals are recommended; mechanical seals do not provide good compensation for the tank wall. High cost, and complex maintenance later on.
