For belt conveyors with a large length and high capacity, the tensioning device should be located near the rear of the drive drum. For example, the belt conveyor in the coal bin should have a smaller machine head near the single-drum drive. The dual-drum tightening device for the head should also be located at the machine head. For belt conveyors with a certain inclination angle, when making adjustments, the tensioning bolts at the head end of the conveyor frame can be considered first. For a horizontally installed, fixed belt conveyor, it is necessary to complete the installation of the equipment before starting it up, and then operate it to check whether there is any deviation in the path taken by the belt. Belt offset indicates that the tension in the conveyor belt may be higher on one side and lower on the other, resulting in uneven forces acting on the belt; if this is not corrected, the belt can easily break or tear. Therefore, adjustments need to be made to the headstock and tailstock. First, align the equipment to ensure that the centerlines of the belt conveyor’s frame, head frame, and tail frame are on the same line. Then adjust the locking bolts of the rollers on the head frame and tail frame so that the forces acting on both sides of the conveyor belt are equal.
As long as the forces acting on both sides of the conveyor belt of the belt conveyor are equal, that will suffice
