Is a stop valve generally used for a drain valve, and a gate valve generally used for an exhaust valve?

Why? Of course I know that it’s possible to use many different valves for draining and releasing pressure, but why is it said that certain valves have advantages over others?
We usually use gate valves at both the front and back
It also depends on the operating conditions; for exhaust at high points in the circulating water system, ball valves (for high pressure) and needle valves (for low pressure) are useful. Ball valves are more commonly seen for draining.
Valve gates are generally used for venting and draining in refining units, while ball valves are used in some chemical processing units
Gate valves are used for high temperatures, ball valves for moderate temperatures, and globe valves are rarely used
Generally, gate valves are used; ball valves are used in a few cases, needle valves are used very rarely, and I have never seen globe valves being used.
