What are the principles for setting up the non-condensable gas discharge line at the top of a heat exchanger? Why do some heat exchangers not have a non-condensable gas discharge line at the top, while others do? Is this related to the control method of tower pressure, or to the material medium? How can one determine whether there is non-condensable gas in the heat exchanger? I need some expert advice. Thank you
It depends on the medium. It will affect the heat exchange efficiency.
If it is a secondary condenser, then there is no need for a vent
An exhaust outlet must be provided as long as there is non-condensable gas

Non-condensable gases must be removed. As for whether to do this by using an exhaust valve to accumulate the gas over a period of time before releasing it, or by using an exhaust line along with a control valve, it depends on the process requirements. Generally, the use of an exhaust line with a control valve is related to pressure control in the tower. For cases where there is little non-condensable gas and accumulation is slow, it is usually the vent valve that needs to be used to vent once after a while
The vent valve for non-condensable gases on the heat exchanger is not necessarily indicated in the PID, but the vent pipeline is definitely shown
