The first one is better – start with the most powerful security phrase available online, namely something like \"Letting others live in your own house, letting others hit your own children.\"
If I were competing, I would choose the first topic as well: “Fools pay with blood for lessons; wise people use those lessons to avoid accidents.” It’s a grand topic that will catch the judges’ attention, and it’s also easy to provide examples for.
Personally, I prefer the second topic: \"Learn from the past to guide the future\" (accidents that have happened around me). Examples from one’s own surroundings are more persuasive and help the audience relate better.
