How can one learn *instrument selection without a mentor’s guidance? As is well known, the key aspects of instrument selection when choosing flow meters and control valves determine the quality of the entire control system. But how to learn product selection, especially when there is no mentor to guide one – how to determine that the choice made is the best one? Everyone, please share your opinions to give the younger generations a chance to learn
I chose it myself as well; at first I knew nothing about it, so I called the instrument manufacturer. The manufacturer would ask me for the technical parameters, and once I provided those, they would choose one for me. . . After doing more projects, the basic types are the same ones, so there’s no need to ask anymore.
I work on instrument control design in a small design firm. What should I learn to improve my skills faster? There isn’t much work related to instruments, and I’m often idle. I’d like to know what I should learn during my free time
It’s a matter of the overall direction, right? Think about which area you want to develop in the future, and then read books on that subject. There are simply too many books to read. .
Check the manual. If you need it now, ask the manufacturer; if you need it in the future, look for the manual... What was that book called again? It had a green cover and was quite thick...?
