What are the natural conditions for sulfides?
Oxygen, temperature. The three elements of combustion: fuel, oxidizer, and ignition point
Go back and look at the definition of the autoignition point and you’ll know
Reductive sulfides will catch fire spontaneously when exposed to oxygen; as long as there is oxygen, of course, provided that a sufficient amount is present. If the amount is too small, there isn’t enough chemical reaction to cause spontaneous combustion. A simple example: a pile of ferrous sulfide powder floating on the surface of water can still catch fire spontaneously when it comes into contact with air
So what happens to the sulfides during startup and shutdown? Like ferrous sulfide?
