When the design temperature does not match the standard required temperature for the material, it is necessary to specify the impact temperature. For example, when Q345R is used at -20 degrees (the standard is 0 degrees). 09MnNiDR is used at -55 degrees (the standard is -70 degrees). Also, it is necessary to explain when the sampling position differs from the standard (the standard being at 1/4 of the plate thickness), as well as in other cases where there are deviations from the standard. If not specified, the standard requirements apply by default; if problems arise due to the device exceeding those standard requirements, the design is responsible for them. If the equipment is manufactured to standards even when it falls short of those requirements, it will result in excessive quality.

If it is to be used at -20°C, this test is required; the impact value requirements are generally the same as those at 0°C. If it meets the standards at -20°C, then this test is not necessary at 0°C. If there are design specifications, follow them. However, for use at -20°C, this must be specified in the design documents, and it should also be indicated in the contract for procurement purposes.
