Pressurized opening of methanol pipeline

Due to micro-leaks in the methanol cooler and the absence of a bypass line, we do not want to shut down the methanol system for now. Is it possible to make openings while the system is under pressure in order to install a bypass line? What safety measures should be taken? Please advise, experts
It’s easier to work with small-diameter pipes; as for large-diameter pipes, it’s better not to bother – safety issues arise, and the costs are high, so it’s better to just park the vehicle
It’s possible to do this; pressure-rated openings are sealed with nitrogen, and the root valve is a gate valve. The diameter of the valve can be selected as needed.
First, weld the short pipe and flange together, install a gate valve; tools are passed through the hole in the gate valve, with nitrogen used for protection and steam available as a backup. After the holes are made, the gate valve is closed, and then the piping can be connected
