How should the secondary screen at the top of the coal slurry tank be selected? Is there any unit that uses an iron remover in this area?
Many design institutes these days have eliminated the secondary roller screen located at the top of the slurry tank. I believe that this secondary roller screen still serves a necessary purpose; generally, its mesh size is smaller than that of the roller screen in the coal grinder. If the mesh of the coal grinder’s roller screen gets damaged, the secondary roller screen can act as a protective layer. By removing it, the likelihood of larger particles of coal slurry entering the tank increases, which poses risks to the safe and stable operation of the system. In mild cases, this may cause problems with the slurry pump’s bearings, while in severe cases it can lead to blockages in the burner head – especially in four-nozzle gasifiers with narrow burner gaps. I personally think this secondary filter is still necessary.
I also think it is necessary; considering adding a vibrating screen would be a good idea.
It is best to control the iron before it enters the grinder; otherwise, it will be harmful to both the grinder and the low-pressure pump. Why wait until the last level to control it?
