The leakage locations are mainly distributed in the weld heat-affected zone. The leakage point is a conical-shaped deep hole, larger on the outside and smaller on the inside. We are now preparing to seal the leak. The medium is a polyol, and the design pressure of the pipeline is 0.6 MPa. Is it feasible to use sleeve tubes for leak sealing? For welding, intermittent welding with a low current is used; so how should the current value be chosen? Please, experts, give me some advice

Personally, I think it’s not a welding issue but rather a material problem. There are many methods for sealing leaks online, such as wrapping, injecting glue, and so on

To be honest, the current level needs to be adjusted depending on factors such as the material and pipe thickness. It is recommended to conduct experiments on pipes of the same material and diameter first, to determine the appropriate current level, and then proceed with welding on the pipes that are leaking. For flammable and explosive pipelines, as long as a slight positive pressure is maintained (negative pressure is strictly prohibited), by standing upwind and taking proper protective measures, there are generally no problems. You could consider making a pipe clamp with glue injected in the middle; it’s simple and safe.
