Discussion on materials for IEC flameproof junction boxes

The manufacturer says it can’t produce IEC-compliant flameproof junction boxes made of 316SS, and thus can’t obtain certification. Is this true? Could some expert explain this in detail? Many domestic manufacturers are capable of doing this; is it not in compliance with the standards?
Consult another manufacturer; it should be feasible and meet the requirements.
The GB3836.2 standard for flameproof enclosures is equivalent to the IEC60079 standard. The standard does not specify which materials should be used; it certainly doesn’t state that stainless steel cannot be used. The reason manufacturers claim they can’t obtain IEC certification is likely because there are relatively few domestic manufacturers holding such certification, and the range of products eligible for certification is also limited. As a result, they may have obtained certification for cast aluminum alloys, but not for stainless steel. It’s also possible that they simply haven’t applied for IEC certification at all. . . .
