For Roots blowers used to transport gas containing carbon monoxide, the pressure is several thousand pascals; I would like to know what type of shaft seal would be suitable Could those with experience share their insights, or explain the performance of various types of shaft seals in actual use?

Why use a Roots blower for just a few thousand pascals? Moreover, it’s gas involved – the composition of the gas is a factor to consider. The explosion-proof rating of Roots blowers isn’t sufficient, and their failure rate is high. I personally recommend using a centrifugal pump instead

How is it being used? Is there a significant leak? For example, applications such as mazes, fillers, skeletons, and machinery.
Actually, a centrifugal fan can be used. The small process gas blowers I developed use lip seals, and the results are quite good. If a carbon ring is used for sealing, nitrogen isolation is required. After all, carbon monoxide is toxic.
Lip seals tend to break easily, right? Its lifespan isn’t very long, is it?

Lip seals work fine too; our unit uses lip seals. Lateral side faces the ventral side.
