Knowledge related to nylon rods in vacuum unit couplings!

The vacuum unit was operating smoothly at first, but recently noise was heard from the coupling. Initially, it was suspected that the wear of the nylon rod was the cause; however, after removing it, it was found that there was no problem with the nylon rod itself, and the alignment of the coupling was also within acceptable limits. So where does this noise come from? Could everyone help analyze this? The nylon rods currently in use have been in use for 3 years now. Is there an expiration date for these nylon rods? What are their properties, and what are the common problems that may arise during use? Thank you
