What is the typical service life of the air filter, oil filter, and oil separator in screw air compressors? During maintenance, should these components be cleaned and reused or replaced with new ones?
Of these three filters, the air filter can be used for a while longer if it’s not too dirty and is blown clean with compressed air; the rest are disposable. We use fully synthetic high-temperature lubricants; the service life is within 8,000 hours, and the oil is replaced at that time as well. The lifespan of an oil filter is generally 3,000–4,000 hours. These are the values under normal conditions; the specific replacement time for the three filters depends on the oil used in the equipment, the manufacturer of the accessories, the frequency of use of the equipment, the operating environment, temperature, and other factors.
It should be determined based on the actual situation, rather than just relying on what the equipment manufacturers say. Just like the three filters in a car, they aren’t always very dirty; they can still be used after being cleaned. But in order to save time (avoiding the effort of cleaning) and make more money (by selling an additional filter), 4S stores recommend replacing them directly.

Generally, it’s time to replace it after around 3,000 hours in winter and about 2,000 hours in summer. We have encountered situations where failure to replace the oil filter caused the oil to become dirty, leading to pressure buildup and fuel injection issues.
