The use of a quick-release valve must be combined with a solenoid valve, that is, it has to be used in conjunction with a interlock system. During normal operation, the quick-release valve does not participate in the control process, which eliminates the problem of instability in the air circuit caused by this valve. However, when the compressor fails, especially during surging, the valve must open quickly; at such times the entire system becomes unstable, and it is no longer possible to maintain stability in the air circuit. Resolving the fault is of primary importance.
