I have a piston compressor, with the inlet pressure for its first cylinder set at around 0.13, and there is a dedicated pressure compensation line. If the incoming traffic is very low and does not meet the required level, will it cause any damage to the equipment?
It will draw the pressure of the equipment in front of the compressor to a negative level, even causing it to collapse. If the inlet flow is low, measures can be taken: 1. Reduce the intake volume ； 2. Perform backflow ； 3. Shut down.
Regarding the characteristics of piston compressors, it is sufficient as long as the inlet and outlet can be maintained within the design pressure range. I have no idea what you mean by “not pressing the line”. The process requirements within the equipment must comply with the specified process parameters; as for whether it is for venting or recycling outside the equipment, that is another matter. To address the range of pressure-flow capabilities of compressors, various control mechanisms have been employed for multi-stage compressors, such as pressure relief valve control at the total outlet ； Valve control at the primary return main inlet ； Valve control at the final return inlet. In such a cycle, it is important to pay attention to the relationship between the pressure in the inhalation system and the upstream air supply unit, for reference.
In my opinion, back pressure needs to be taken into consideration. If there is constant pressure at the inlet, it’s not a big problem, but the pressure ratio must also be considered; an excessive pressure ratio leads to an increase in exhaust temperature.
