The analysis above is quite comprehensive; I’ll add a few more points. The pumps that are preheated are all standby pumps, and for preheating to be possible, the outlet pressure must be higher than the inlet pressure; if the operating pump is under vacuum or the outlet pressure is low (compared to the inlet pressure), it is also difficult to carry out preheating. If it is a heavy oil pump (such as asphalt, residue), it is likely to be a sludge line or sludge pump.
I’ve encountered this problem with my device: the preheating valve became clogged. The solution is to use steam to blow on the bottom of the valve, thereby melting the solidified substance; blowing for about ten minutes usually resolves the issue
