There is a slight oil leak from our turbine quick-shut valve, in the form of a small stream. To keep production going, the supervisor said it’s not a big issue and there’s no need to stop the machine for repairs! I’m not sure if there’s really no impact at all

If the oil leakage does not cause a drop in oil pressure or environmental pollution, it’s fine to wait until the machine is shut down before taking action!
Check whether the oil pressure can be stabilized; also, it’s possible to seal the leak while the pressure is still present
If it does not affect the operation of the unit, the oil leakage can be managed properly; for example, a oil bucket can be used to collect the oil, or a pipe can be installed to send it back to the tank. It’s just that it looks unsightly and is also energy-consuming
As long as it does not affect the oil pressure required for rapid shutdown, use some tools to collect the leaking oil and direct it back to the tank, thereby preventing the oil from falling onto the high-temperature steam pipelines and causing a fire.
Analyze the cause of the leakage; if it worsens in the future, it could lead to the shutdown of the unit.

Both steam turbines in our facility are leaking oil, at rates of 2.4 l/min and 3 l/min respectively; shutdowns due to low quick-shut oil pressure occur frequently.
The quick-shut assembly features a 2200 series throttle element with a diameter of about 1 mm. Has anyone calculated what the maximum flow rate in liters per minute is when the critical quick-shut valve is closed (at our pressure of 0.33 Mpa)?
