This post was last edited by YORK Industrial Refrigeration on 2018-5-7 at 08:53. This year’s 【Daily Question】 is divided into three categories: screw refrigeration compressors, refrigeration systems, and oil circuit systems, aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding of refrigeration technology. (If you encounter something you don’t know or can’t answer, please actively look up information; as you do so, your skills will improve!) ) Those who comment on this post will receive 1-3 wealth points; those who give complete answers will get 10-15 points, with the validity period being two days. ============================== Common faults of screw refrigeration compressors (7): During this business trip, all the customers we visited had their condensers replaced. The water quality in that area is very poor, and since the original condenser material was carbon steel, most of them were replaced with stainless steel. Do anyone have any good suggestions? (The condensate water remains unchanged.) Choosing copper tubes in terms of material provides excellent heat exchange and corrosion resistance properties. Even better, galvanized copper pipes can be used. ============================== High-quality promotions: Mechanical equipment——Videos on the repair and calibration of York compressors https://bbs.hcbbs.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1806833 Mechanical equipment——Maintenance procedures for York screw compressors https://bbs.hcbbs.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1806833 Mechanical equipment——Upgrading of York Quinton control centers https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-1804837-1-1.html Mechanical equipment——Major repairs of GEA Grasox screw compressors https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-1800467-1-1.html Mechanical equipment——Disassembly and maintenance of British HOWDEN screw compressors https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-1832529-1-1.html Mechanical equipment——Disassembly and maintenance of Japanese Maekawa MYCOM screw compressors https://bbs.hcbbs.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=
Regular shutdowns for cleaning the heat exchanger
Anti-corrosion treatment is applied to the circulating water side of the heat exchange tubes (using thermosetting resin for anti-corrosion)
Clean it regularly without changing the water quality.
Generally, the tube bundles in large screw compressor coolers are made of stainless steel, right? Improve the quality of the circulating water – what else can be done? :lol
It should be considered in several scenarios: 1. If poor water quality is causing corrosion of carbon steel equipment, one option is to improve the water quality, and the other is to replace the carbon steel equipment with stainless steel; one can then choose based on a comparison of investment and operating costs. 2. If the water quality is poor and scaling in the equipment’s flow channels affects the heat exchange efficiency, then one solution is to improve the water quality, and the other is to clean and remove the scale regularly; the choice should be made by comparing the investment costs with the overall expenses.
The condensate water remains unchanged; only regular shutdowns are required to clean the heat exchanger.
If the water quality remains unchanged, just add scale inhibitors to the circulating cooling water
The circulating cooling water system is equipped with filtration and sedimentation facilities; the inside of the condenser is coated with anti-scaling paint (it is necessary to calculate the heat transfer coefficient), or an additional backup cooler is installed for regular switching
