Since there is a large amount of hydrogen peroxide in the wastewater treatment workshop, aeration is required to remove it. Should this workshop be classified as Category A and therefore require explosion-proof measures?
In accordance with the Provisions on Production Safety in Industrial Enterprises (Decree No. 493 of the State Council), sewage treatment workshops need to be classified according to the categories of hazardous chemicals. Hydrogen peroxide is an oxidizing agent with oxidizing properties; it readily reacts with other substances to release large amounts of oxygen, which can lead to dangerous situations such as fires and explosions. Therefore, it is recommended to apply Class A explosion protection measures to this workshop to ensure the safe operation of the equipment and processes within it, as well as to safeguard the safety of the staff. .
It depends on the concentration of hydrogen peroxide; if the flash point of the wastewater is less than 28 degrees, the entire system is classified as Category A. If the wastewater fails to meet the requirements, and the concentration of stripped hydrogen peroxide reaches Class A levels, then the system falls within the Class A range. It must be constructed in accordance with Class A safety and explosion-proof regulations.
