The key question is that if you can ensure cleanliness inside the pipe, you can connect and weld it however you like. Oh, and it needs to stay unobstructed. The gas required for instruments is a clean, dry gas that does not undergo any chemical reactions with them, and is free of mechanical impurities and particulate matter at room temperature. The main pipeline can be welded in various ways, but a filter must be installed. The instrumentation pipes in various branches are usually fabricated using the socket brazing process.

Generally, instrument air and purified air pipelines are made of stainless steel or galvanized carbon steel pipes. Moreover, the diameter of such pipes is generally not large; aside from the main pipelines, it is usually less than DN100. For stainless steel welding, pure argon is used, while for galvanized pipes with a diameter of less than 100, wire with a specific coating is employed. Both of these can ensure cleanliness. If welding is to be done, TIG welding is preferred.
