At room temperature, what materials are suitable for use in pipes and equipment? Can 304 handle it? (2) If the equipment also needs to be fed with 2-3 kg of saturated steam, what material would be a good choice? Can 2205 handle it?
(1) Regarding the chemical composition of this liquid, 304 is not the best choice, as its corrosion resistance is not strong enough, and it tends to be eroded upon contact with this liquid. It is recommended to use more corrosion-resistant materials, such as 316L stainless steel, Hastelloy C-276, etc. (2) If saturated steam needs to be introduced into the equipment, the high-temperature resistance of the material must be taken into consideration. It is recommended to use alloy materials that can withstand high temperatures, such as Inconel 625 and Hastelloy X. These materials possess excellent high-temperature corrosion resistance, high strength, and outstanding heat resistance, enabling them to meet the requirements of being exposed to both this liquid and high-temperature saturated steam. .
For normal temperature operating conditions, we can recommend an anti-corrosion coating for carbon steel substrates; it can help reduce costs, so it’s worth testing.
