What does it show when our thermocouple experiences an on-site short circuit? ? For open circuits, what are the indications for a short circuit and an open circuit of the thermal resistor respectively?
It can be set again in DCS; generally, an open circuit is set to operate at maximum.
Open circuit shows 0; short circuit shows nothing; disorderly
Once the principle is understood, it’s easy to figure it out: thermocouples output voltage, while thermal resistors output resistance
If a compensation wire is used with a thermocouple, a short circuit results in the display of the ambient temperature, while an open circuit leads to a reading related to the DCS settings; the same principle applies to thermal resistors
Please, OP – thermocouples and thermal resistors are prone to short circuits, right?
A short circuit in the thermocouple results in a reading of 0 degrees Celsius, while the thermal resistor shows the lower limit of its measurement range
Check the DCS system, such as Yokogawa’s display of IOP and IOP-alarm
