Construction of Henan Jinma Middle East Energy’s Coking Project Began Author/Source: Modern Coal Chemicals Date: 2021-04-07 Clicks: 14 On April 1, the construction work on Unit 1 of the dry quenching furnace for Henan Jinma Middle East Energy’s 1.8 million tons per year coking project commenced successfully. The waste heat power generation project for dry quenching of coke at Henan Jinma Middle East Energy is under EPC general contracting by MCC Coking & Refractory (Dalian) Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. The dry quenching furnace is a key component of dry coke quenching systems; it consists of an upper cone, a pre-storage chamber (ring-shaped air duct), inclined air ducts, and a cooling chamber. Due to its own weight, the coke moves from the upper cone at the top of the furnace through the pre-storage chamber into the cooling chamber. Inert gas at low temperature enters the cooling chamber from the air caps at the bottom, where heat exchange takes place. This inert gas then passes through the inclined air ducts into the ring-shaped air ducts, gathers there, undergoes dust removal and purification, and after having its heat recovered by a waste heat boiler, it is reused in the cycle. Dry coke quenching helps to reduce water waste and make effective use of the thermal energy of coke, thereby improving both the quality of the coke and the production environment. At 9:50, the project owner, the main design contractor, the company’s project supervision department, and other participating parties held a brief opening ceremony at the construction site. Wang Mingzhong, General Manager of Jinma Energy; Li Tianxi, Executive Deputy General Manager; Yu Zhendong, Chairman of MCC Coking & Refractory; and Fan Jianguo, legal representative of Jinma in the Middle East, attended the inauguration ceremony. Wang Cairu, senior manager and project director at Luoyang Petrochemical Engineering Construction Group Co., Ltd., delivered a speech at the commencement ceremony. She said that over the past decade or so, the company has continuously provided supervision services to Jinma Energy; the two parties have trusted and supported each other, thus establishing a long-term partnership. The company has always adhered to the service philosophy of \"providing support for projects and resolving problems for clients.\" In its future work, it will continue to uphold the professional standards of Luoyang Petrochemical’s supervisors, characterized by strict oversight, enthusiastic service, and efficiency along with integrity. It will live up to the trust placed in it by its clients and the expectations of the company, ensuring that the projects are completed to high standards, with high quality, and efficiently, and that they are put into operation on schedule. Using washed coking coal as raw material, the project involves constructing one set of regenerative top-loaded coke ovens with 2×70 chambers and a height of 7.65 m, to produce metallurgical coke and coke oven gas; simultaneously, 3×130 t/h dry quenching facilities are also built as part of the setup. The existing 4.3 m coke ovens will be shut down by the end of 2020. Before the commissioning of the new 1.8 million t/a coking plant, the 4.3 m coke ovens will be completely shut down; once the commissioning is complete, the 5.5 m coke ovens at Yu Gang Coking will be shut down immediately, and the 30 carbonization chambers of the 5.5 m coke ovens in Phase II of Jin Ma will also be sealed off.
