I would like to ask the experts here! ! The flow transmitter for contaminated nitrogen often causes the valve to switch to manual mode due to exceeding its range, and the valve tends to get stuck. Now, we want to increase the transmitter’s range online – what precautions should be taken during this process? What are the risks?
Set the valve to its normal opening position and observe it for a few minutes to check for fluctuations in flow rate. If there are no significant fluctuations, adjust the range as necessary on-site, and also modify the range set in the DCS. After making these adjustments, proceed with whatever needs to be done
It should be noted that the range being changed must be within the transmitter’s measurement range, and the transmitter must not be damaged. After changing the range, it is necessary to calibrate it with a standard gauge to verify its accuracy.
