Are the high and low liquid level switches in storage tanks going to fade away from use?

The relevant provisions of GB/T50770-2013 state as follows: 6.1.1 Analog measuring instruments are preferred for safety instrument systems； The relevant explanations are provided in the subsequent text; if a digital instrument does not operate for an extended period of time, issues such as contact sticking and poor contact may occur. What do everyone think?
It’s just that the safety instrument system requires this; it doesn’t say that DCS can’t be used. So it can still be utilized in ordinary situations: lol
Our tank area has been in use, but the on-site operator mainly monitors the liquid level.
I’d also like to know the reasons why it can’t be used. Thank you.

For example, in systems such as the lubrication system pressure monitoring and interlock protection for engines, pressure switches were commonly used in the past; nowadays, pressure transmitters are employed in some cases. Personally, I believe that pressure transmitters are more reliable over the long term
Well, this is a trend. In the past, switch-type meters were used mainly because of their lower cost; now, analog meters account for only a small portion of the total investment, so price is no longer a factor to consider. For operators, it’s definitely more convenient with transmitters.
