Why are expansion joints installed on the steam outlet pipeline of the turbine?
Prevent thermal expansion and contraction from causing damage to the pipelines
It has been running continuously, with stable pressure and temperature as well
With an expansion coefficient from stop to operation
Thermal expansion and contraction cannot be prevented; it is to reduce the stress on the equipment caused by such expansion and contraction
As a precautionary measure, compensation may not be necessary in normal times, but it’s useful during periods of fluctuation
Preventing thermal expansion and contraction from causing tears in the pipelines is probably a precautionary measure; it’s not used very often in everyday situations anyway
Proper compensation for the thermal expansion of the exhaust pipes is necessary to prevent this expansion from exerting additional force on the turbine, which could lead to a change in the center of the turbine shafting and thus cause unwanted vibrations. Moreover, the force exerted by the expanding pipes on the equipment can result in sticking of the turbine’s sliding pin system during operation, as well as rubbing between moving and stationary parts, thereby threatening the safe operation of the turbine.
Then why isn’t an expansion joint installed on the high-pressure steam side at the inlet? Logically, a greater temperature difference should result in greater stress! ! ! Everyone
