The issue of structural length in GB12221

RT, the client’s technical specifications require that the standard length for the valve structure be in accordance with GB12221, and the type of valve to be used is a ball valve. The question is: under the GB12221 standard, there are short, medium, and long series of ball valves for normal pressure applications. In the absence of any specific instructions from the client, can any of these series be chosen? Which series is the usual conventional one? Our company’s products feature a medium series of structural lengths.
This cannot be guessed; it needs to be clarified with the client
The valves we design are labeled according to which series of GB12221 they belong to; for example, valves with PN16 rating are labeled as GB12221 (Series 16). Generally, there are no special requirements, and the long version is usually chosen for design purposes; it’s advisable to check with the designer regarding this. If the length doesn’t fit, it may cause problems during installation on site.
This needs to be clarified with the process; process approval is sufficient.
