What is the difference between 20 Number steel and Q235 for 16-kilogram carbon steel flanges and fittings? It is used for carbon steel pipelines. The supplier delivers flanges and fittings of the two different materials together; is there any difference in welding and usage?

The specific material standards corresponding to each material should also be indicated; for example, 20# GB/T8163 is the standard for steel pipes, 20# NB/T 47008 refers to forged materials, while Q235B is generally used for steel plates, with the standard being GB/T3274. There are also welded pipes made from this type of steel plate, such as those governed by the standards Q235B GB/T3091 and Q235B SY/T505037. Generally, flanges are made from forgings, while pipe fittings are made by extruding pipes. In terms of material properties, 20# is superior to Q235B both in terms of pipes and forgings. Q235B is generally used for pipelines carrying non-toxic, non-flammable media, with operating temperatures below 350°C and pressures below 3.0 Mpa; it is also used in structural applications such as supports and hangers. 20# can be used with flammable and toxic media. There is no difference in welding.
