Hello everyone, I’m a student who has just started working at the design institute. After specifying the pipes, the supervisor said that the information should be entered according to HG/T21629-1999 standards. I’m using PDSOFT for this purpose; after entering the details, a material list for the pipe supports is generated. However, there’s a problem: for example, in the case of U-bolts, the software calculates the amount of material required as round steel in meters. Rather than how many sets of U-bolts there are with a certain DN value. The pipe clamp specification refers to the length of the flat steel used, as well as the number of bolts, rather than the DN value or the number of A5-1 type clamps. Which one should be used if Party A makes the purchase? I don’t have any on-site experience, and the person in charge of the design is also confused and can’t give a definite answer. I hope someone with similar work experience can explain to me, or what are most design institutes like?
Measure the length of the U-bolts and pipe clamps, and calculate how many are needed.
Use a standard bracket. Based on the bracket number, the material can be exported.
The reason for the statistical difference between these two materials is cost-related. The cost of production on-site is low; it requires that all the supports be disassembled and the individual components counted, after which these components are purchased directly and given to the construction team on site to assemble them. However, the supports produced in this way are usually not aesthetically pleasing, but the cost is low. Another option is to purchase ready-made supports, which results in higher costs. That’s why domestic projects prefer to disassemble the supports into individual components. However, this disassembly isn’t done arbitrarily; components like U-BOLTS cannot be disassembled – they have to be purchased as ready-made units. The method of disassembly is as described in the manual; when doing the counting, one can first count based on the finished brackets, and then calculate the total amount of individual components that make up each bracket.
PDSOFT simply cannot export the correct material list; use PDS or PDMS instead.
Actually, you just need to draw the pipelines correctly; the quantities and weights of materials listed in the material inventory table are false. If you do the calculations now, the construction company won’t use the figures provided in your material list when issuing the tender.
