If both flanges at the ends of the flexible metal hose are of the socket weld or butt weld type, construction errors may make it difficult to connect them properly in the future. So a loose-flange can be used on the other end. I wonder if any of you friends have encountered this situation before?
Flanges for metal flexible hoses can be slip-on flanges or others; slip-on flanges are definitely easier to install than regular ones
It is up to you to decide whether to use loose flanges or not.
As far as I can tell, the ones I’ve seen are either quick-connect types or slip flange types; I’ve never seen fixed flange types.
Metal hoses at the entrances and exits of equipment designed to prevent settlement, as well as fixed metal wound hoses that are not intended for temporary use, are generally equipped with fixed flanges.
What you say makes a lot of sense; requirements such as the type of flange end face can be specified on the data sheet for purchasing metal hoses. Otherwise, use loose flanges to facilitate on-site construction and installation.
Flanges with one end fixed and the other end loosely fitted are quite common.

This also depends on temperature, pressure, and the type of medium; for example, in the case of steam hoses used by us, both ends are fixed.
This kind of thing is quite common; the pipes that connect the oil storage tanks at the unloading station to the transport vehicles usually have a metal wound tube in between. Any type of flange can be used, but the maximum allowable pressure is 1.6 Mpa. Installation can be a bit difficult as the material is quite hard
