I would like to ask the experienced colleagues about the chamfering of the outer surface of flanges. I couldn’t find any specifications regarding this in the GB, HB, and JB standards. Could you let me know how it is determined – is it sufficient to simply round off the edges? Thank you
It should be rounded at the corners; otherwise, it would be like a sharp blade and not suitable for use during installation or maintenance. For reference.
Generally, it’s to remove sharp edges and round them off for safety reasons. The outer diameter of the flange is also generally 0.5~2 mm; 45 degrees is sufficient.
The main criterion is that it should be blunted; for our processing, it’s 2MM at a 45-degree angle
There is no specific specification regarding the size of the angle, but in design it is usually 0.5–1 mm at 45°; if it’s too large, it becomes unattractive
