I would like to ask everyone: what type of valve should be used for the bypass of control valves in high-pressure, large-diameter steam pipelines? For medium and high-pressure steam pipelines with a diameter of DN250 or more, the diameter of the bypass lines is greater than DN200. Globe valves are generally not suitable for use when the diameter exceeds DN150 as they are difficult to obtain. Currently, gate valves are being used as bypass valves, although gate valves are usually not intended for regulating flow. What type of valve do you all use in such situations? I’d appreciate it if you could share your experience. Thank you!
It’s better to choose a globe valve, as it is more convenient to use.
Since large globe valves are difficult to obtain, plug valves are a good alternative; I wonder if anyone has used them.
If adjustment is needed, just install an adjustable valve, right?
