Is there a bleaching method using chlorine dioxide that is useful for bleaching mechanical pulp in papermaking? If there is, how is it bleached? If not, what is the reason?
There shouldn’t be any such thing; the danger associated with chlorine dioxide is much higher than that of chlorine, and it’s also extremely unstable.

As far as I know, Chenming and Sun Paper Group both use CLO2 for bleaching, and they employ some of our fluorocarbon-coated magnetic pumps, based on Canadian Camidi technology. But I never asked whether it was mechanical pulp or chemical pulp or something like that.
Many pulp mills in China use chlorine dioxide to bleach pulp. There are also Chinese companies that act as agents for Cammedi’s chlorine dioxide production systems in Canada, and are responsible for their installation and commissioning.
The bleaching of mechanical pulp generally uses hydrogen peroxide, not chlorine dioxide
