The chlorine gas collected at the sampling port of the electrolyzer contains water; chlorine gas with a high water content causes severe corrosion to the chromatograph. Is there any suitable way to dry the chlorine gas before sampling?
Change the sampling location; sampling can be done after drying following the chlorohydrogen treatment
The chlorine gas after the turbine is only used to determine its purity; it contains no oxygen or hydrogen, so chromatography is not required. It’s unrealistic to ask the manufacturing process to eliminate the analysis of oxygen and hydrogen content in chlorine in those twelve individual tanks!
During sampling, it is dried with sulfuric acid; chlorine is passed through two stages of concentrated sulfuric acid to remove moisture before being introduced into the sampler
Can color-changing silica gel be used to absorb moisture in chlorine? Does color-changing silica gel react with chlorine?
The water absorption capacity and speed of color-changing silica gel are much lower than those of sulfuric acid; it is more suitable for use as a desiccant in electronic devices
