On June 16, the foundation-laying ceremony for Ammonia-Alkali Source Chemical Co., Ltd.’s caustic soda production project was held in the Jinchang Hexibao Chemical Industry Park. The Union Alkali Project of Ammonia-Alkali Source Company is a circular economy project that builds on the existing ammonia synthesis and nitric acid production facilities in the Jinchang Hexibao Chemical Industry Park; it reorganizes the industrial structure by employing new technologies and processes, eliminates outdated production capacities, and promotes the strategic transformation and upgrading of the enterprise. The project is aligned with Jinchang City’s strategy of building a strong industrial city. By leveraging the advantage of Hexibao Town, which has been designated as a pilot area for reforms in economically developed towns in Gansu Province, it makes use of the guiding role of industry upgrades and industrial policies to maximize the utilization of the existing assets of enterprises within the park, thereby establishing stable upstream and downstream industrial chain relationships. The project requires 256 mu of land for construction, with a total investment of 741 million yuan; the planned construction period is 18 months. Upon completion of the project, it will be able to produce 200,000 tons of soda ash, 200,000 tons of ammonium chloride, and 100,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year. This will generate an additional industrial output value of 580 million yuan, yield profits and taxes amounting to 38 million yuan, and create more than 300 new job opportunities. It is reported that the establishment and development of Ammonia-Alkali Source Company will enable the Hexibao Chemical Industry Park to form a park ecosystem centered around this company, with other chemical enterprises interacting and supporting one another. This will create a new framework for diversified development in production, logistics, and trade, thereby adding new momentum to the long-term growth of the chemical industry park and contributing to the high-quality development of Jinchang’s industrial economy.
