I’ve seen in many sources that the concentration of nitrogen trichloride in liquid chlorine is required to be less than 60 g/l (4.13% on a mass basis). So what should the concentration be in the gas phase? (Some sources mention 50 PPm.) Also, regarding the accumulation of nitrogen trichloride, is it the liquid phase that is more prone to explosion or the gas phase? In our facility, the sample is obtained after the liquid phase of the carburetor is vaporized; the nitrogen trichloride content in the gas phase is (generally, the concentration does not exceed 10 PPm). I’m not sure if there is a method to directly measure the content of nitrogen trichloride in the liquid phase. Is it also to control the amount of liquid nitrogen trichloride in order to prevent explosions of nitrogen trichloride? Or control the content of nitrogen trichloride in the gas phase? ? ?
:(It should be in the liquid phase; in the gas phase, not only is the amount small, but the volume of expansion due to decomposition is also low, and decomposition doesn’t occur easily. At the previous company, the vaporization tanks were placed together, and after a leak occurred, no replacement was done; instead, the tanks were polished using a grinder, which resulted in two workers being blown apart.)
