The furnace body of hydrochloric acid synthesis furnaces is cooled using pure water, recycled water, and boiler water – so is it unnecessary to insulate the furnace’s exterior?
It is directly related to the ambient temperature; in the north, winter temperatures can drop to several degrees below zero, which requires insulation.
Can’t graphite withstand low temperatures? It gets as low as minus 30 degrees here in winter
Insulation is still necessary; if the equipment is left parked in winter when temperatures drop below minus 30 degrees, it can freeze and crack easily!
