The function of potassium carbonate in the alkali tower is to absorb the moisture in the raffinate, turning concentrated alkali into dilute alkali. Secondly, it neutralizes the acidic components in the raffinate, and thirdly, it has the function of regenerating the degradation products of anthraquinone. Some people have done experiments on sodium carbonate. The experiments on sodium carbonate include the use of caustic soda, which is very alkaline and has poor absorption. Regenerating degraded materials also didn't work, and as a result, the working conditions worsened and almost stopped. In fact, potassium carbonate is not the most ideal choice for drying anthraquinone in hydrogen peroxide. The alkali metal ions of potassium carbonate are easily entrained by the working fluid into the hydrogenation tower, thus affecting the activity and service life of the palladium catalyst.
But the potassium carbonate you use is all light potassium carbonate. Why is this? Foreign technologies all use heavy potassium carbonate. Experts please explain. Can't heavy granular Germany be used? There are still requirements for the number of meshes.
