In the history of the sulfuric acid industry in our country, Nanhua once played a leading role. Nanhua’s setup back then was truly spectacular; articles published in the journal \"Sulfuric Acid Industry\" often included descriptions of Nanhua’s sulfuric acid production facilities. As far as I remember, Nanhua’s sulfuric acid production stops at series 7; it’s interesting that there are no series 8 or 9. In short, the reason why Nanhua did not proceed with the construction of acid production units of series 8 and series 9 can be attributed, in large part, to the efforts and advancements toward larger-scale operations in China’s sulfuric acid industry at that time. Think about how spectacular it would be to have 7 sulfuric acid production units together, but their total output might not even equal that of a single acid production plant today! The 300,000 tons per year sulfur-based sulfuric acid production plant in Suzhou should represent an important milestone in the development of larger-scale sulfuric acid production in China; subsequently, the capacity of such plants increased to 400,000 tons per year, 600,000 tons per year, and even 800,000 tons per year. It should be noted that there are also acid production plants with a capacity of 800,000 tons per year in the high-altitude areas of our country, and the size of their equipment is equivalent to that of a 1 million-ton-per-year acid production plant in coastal areas.

It is a great pity that Nanhua failed to seize the opportunity to scale up its sulfuric acid production facilities at that time.
Just imagine, what a spectacular sight it would be if 7 acid production units were built in one place!
The reality is that the first few sets have all been taken down; now there are only three sets left. Additionally, due to the structure of Nanhua’s products, a larger amount of sulfuric acid is not required. Nanhua is merely a base; the transmission and development of technology depend on Nanhua Design Institute. However, Nanjing Engineering Company is now focusing its efforts on areas such as petrochemicals, sulfur, wet acid production, and wet flue gas desulfurization.
Systems 1-4 are located in nitrogen fertilizer plants and have been completely dismantled during the production of large-scale fertilizers; systems 5-7 are in phosphate fertilizer plants and will also be dismantled soon.
