The hydrogen peroxide tail absorption process has a short flow path; the resulting dilute acid can be used as water for dry absorption, with no by-products. Guotou Jincheng uses hydrogen peroxide to absorb sulfuric acid exhaust gases, with a wet electrostatic precipitator following it. The transformation and temperature rise have already begun.

Hydrogen peroxide effectively recycles a portion of the SO2 gas back into the system, but this is possible only based on two key factors: 1. The raw materials contain very little water content, allowing the liquid resulting from absorption to be fully reused by the system; otherwise, the excess dilute acid would be even more difficult to handle than the waste fluid from the conventional tail gas absorption tower. 2. The conversion efficiency must meet the required standards, meaning that the SO2 content in the exhaust gases is low; otherwise, the gases after passing through hydrogen peroxide cannot be discharged in compliance with regulations, which will lead to a series of problems. In fact, I personally think that the exhaust gas, after being transformed and absorbed, contains very few impurities, so the gypsum produced should be of relatively high quality. It’s just that plaster is used less these days.
