Recently, the 100,000 tons per year methyl methacrylate (MMA) production facility, which is part of the Yulong Island integrated refining and chemical complex project (Phase I) owned by Yulong Petrochemical, has successfully produced qualified MMA products, and the ammonium sulfate product was also manufactured successfully. As a key component of Yulong Island’s integrated refining and chemical complex, the MMA project features complex processes, strict standards, and a tight deadline. As a high-value-added basic chemical raw material, MMA is the key component used in the production of high-quality PMMA (acrylic) materials. The products derived from it are widely used in areas such as optical lenses, automotive lighting, electronic displays, and high-end decorative panels, thanks to their excellent transparency and weather resistance. This successful commissioning marks the project’s achievement of a safe and environmentally sound one-time start-up, with the products meeting quality standards from the very first attempt. Project Name: Yulong Island Integrated Refining and Chemical Project (Phase I) of Shandong Yulong Petrochemical Co., Ltd., including a 100,000-ton/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) production facility.Owner of the Project: Shandong Yulong Petrochemical Co., Ltd.
Project Type: New construction.
Location: Located within the Shandong Yulong Petrochemical Industrial Park.
Main Construction Contents: An investment of 1,599,660,000 yuan is planned to build new units for ACH production, MMA production, and ammonium sulfate production; in addition, a storage warehouse for ammonium sulfate and tank areas will be constructed. The project will also make use of existing facilities such as waste gas and waste liquid incinerators, SAR regeneration units, sewage treatment plants, and other auxiliary facilities. Upon completion, the project will be able to produce 84,000 tons per year of methyl methacrylate (MMA), with an additional 180,500 tons per year of ammonium sulfate as a by-product.
