A crack has developed in the weak roof of an operating dome tank. The medium is the catalytic raw material; the temperature is 140 degrees Celsius, with heating provided.
How long has it been running before the problem occurred? Is the breathing valve regularly serviced?
It’s an old tank that has been in use for about ten years. According to the regulations, a tank inspection every 4 to 6 years is sufficient if there are no issues. The breathing valve was serviced last year. After the incident, no steam leakage occurred. Haha, I don’t know either how it cracked.
Storing residue at 140°C is a bit risky and unsafe; it’s most likely due to water present in the residue, which causes boiling. Corrosion can also lead to cracking of the top skid plates.
