The catalytic flue gas extractor has stopped operating; can the motor drive the main fan (there is a backup main fan)? Thank you.
Generally, it is possible to drive the main fan, unless the main unit is started directly at startup; in some designs of main fans, the motor is not capable of driving the exhaust fan due to excessive load.
Yes, once our installation is in operation, the motor is used to start the main fan; however, there is a soft start function. We don’t have a backup unit, so the motor is the only thing that can be used to start the main fan
Our three units can’t handle it; the fan has a capacity of 4000 million, while the motor has a capacity of 3200 million.

The designs nowadays should all be able to operate standalone; in previous designs, motors were generally sized smaller for energy-saving reasons!
