Recently, the flue gas from our catalytic unit regeneration contains a lot of ash (black in color) that is relatively light. What’s going on? Has anyone encountered this before? During the combustion of the coke on the catalyst in a normal catalytic regenerator, in addition to CO2, CO, and water vapor being produced, could ash also be present?
I haven’t seen it. Has the color of the regenerator changed compared to before?
The color of the catalyst is still normal; it’s just that there is ash in the regenerated flue gas, which enters the flue gas desulfurization and dust removal tower and causes the water there to turn black
What carbonization? Does the equipment get carbonized? Our two reactors and flues are all lined now
It’s possible, but we will have blackness for about a week. If it’s a precursor containing oil, it won’t last this long
