Can the ethylene content in catalytic dry gas be adjusted through reactions?
Adjustment is not possible; improving catalyst activity and increasing the oil-to-catalyst ratio can have some effect.
It should be said that secondary reactions should be minimized to reduce the dry gas yield, thereby reducing the amount of ethylene in the dry gas! Under normal circumstances, this is the adjustment range of the absorption stabilization system; the reaction merely carries out cutting in a rather rough manner!
I want to increase the ethylene content in the dry gas. Is this closely related to the degree of reaction?
I remember there used to be a type of additive called acrylic additive; I’ve never heard of one for ethylene! Additionally, ethylene is considered a gaseous product; if the amount of gaseous products increases, the coke yield will also rise accordingly. You need to weigh this carefully!
If the ethylene yield is high, increasing the reaction temperature should enhance the reaction depth. However, if the yield of dry gas is high, the yields of other products will decrease. It is best to keep the dry gas recovery rate below 3%; a higher rate is not worthwhile, as dry gas is relatively cheaper. Hope it’s useful, thank you!
